With the goal of providing the highest quality and safety to our clients and stakeholders in general, we hold a wide variety of certifications from accredited institutions that endorse our approach to each of our operations.
Food safety is a global concern, not only because of its importance to public health but also because of its impact on international trade. In this context, Sigmaplast is deeply committed to food safety, becoming the first Ecuadorian company producing flexible packaging to obtain FSSC 22000 certification, guaranteeing the safety management of its produced packaging.
Sigmaplast has implemented this standard for over 14 years, which has allowed us to increase customer satisfaction by addressing their needs. We have also achieved increased productivity after the initial evaluation and the subsequent process improvements that occur during its implementation, as well as improved employee training and qualifications.
Threats in global trade are a situation that should not be ignored. Risk is a constant for any company, regardless of its size or reputation, as it can arise at any stage of the process. That's why Sigmaplast has sought out the appropriate tools to implement control and prevention measures throughout the entire national and international physical distribution chain, such as BASC – Business Alliance for Secure Commerce.
Sigmaplast is part of SEDEX, an international non-profit membership organization that simplifies doing business for the benefit of all. One of its core principles is SMETA , one of the most widely used social audit procedures in the world. It assesses the activities of responsible supply chains, including labor rights, health and safety, the environment, and business ethics.
Sigmaplast conveys the pride of being Ecuadorian through the use of the ECUADOR LOVES LIFE logo on our export products. Companies authorized to use this logo are characterized by their high quality and added value, as they are subject to social responsibility, which sets them apart from their competitors. This represents an opportunity to enter demanding markets.
In strict compliance with national regulations, Sigmaplast is authorized by the government agency to export safe wooden pallets (EC-P-035), allowing our customers to trust in the safety of this input that accompanies the flexible packaging that arrives at their companies on a daily basis.

FOOD SAFETY POLICY
Sigmaplast, a flexible packaging converter, is committed to establishing, maintaining, and continually improving a food safety system as required by FSSC 22000; planning and controlling the production and marketing of its products through:
Evaluating and selecting suppliers to ensure raw material safety and develop a mutually beneficial relationship.
Ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements and with mutually agreed-upon customer requirements regarding the safety of supplied packaging.
Performing maintenance on your facilities and equipment to increase the efficiency, effectiveness, and productivity of your processes, while also ensuring care for the environment and the community.
Ensuring adequate participation and commitment of staff within the company through training.
Maintaining effective communication mechanisms with our internal and external audiences, enabling interactivity between the parties involved.

INTEGRATED MANAGEMENT POLICY
Sigmaplast is committed to the development, production, conversion, and export of safe, flexible packaging. We adhere to the technical specifications established in agreement with our customers and suppliers to avoid any risk to consumer health, and we continually improve our processes, reflecting our quality objectives.
Sigmaplast effectively complies with the BASC Security requirements in its Control and Security Management System (CSMS) to prevent its production, handling, and transportation resources from being used for criminal activities within its business, within ethical and legal guidelines to avoid fraud and bribery that affect the proper conduct of its business activities. This policy is an ongoing commitment by its employees, suppliers, and customers to continuous improvement.
